From Santa Cruz and points south:
- From Highway One, go Highway 17 NORTH towards San Jose.
- At Scotts Valley, you'll want to exit on the Mount Hermon Road
exit. The exit ramp bears you around to the right, and then you'll
make a LEFT hand turn onto the actual Mount Hermon Road. (It
crosses over the freeway.)
- Go through the many stoplights and shopping centers that are
Scotts Valley. You're going to stay on Mount Hermon Road until it
ends. This will take you through a winding, beautiful, and
uninhabited valley — just keep going along until finally Mt.
Hermon Road stops at a stop light.
- You can either go right or left — go RIGHT. (This is Graham
Hill Road.)
- Immediately get into the Right Hand Lane — you'll be making
the NEXT RIGHT at the next stop light, which is onto Highway 9 in
Felton.
- Once you're on Highway 9, settle down for the 'don't blink or
you'll miss them' mountain-town tour. You're already in
Felton.
- After Felton, you'll pass the Highlands
Park on your right. Then Jaye's Timberlane Motel on your left.
- After Jaye's, you'll see a sign marking
an up-coming road called SCENIC. On the left-hand side of the road, you'll see a road called
Scenic. (Scenic is between the town of Ben Lomond and Highlands
Park.
- Make a LEFT onto Scenic.
- Follow Scenic 1 mile -- there will be 3
hairpin turns as you wind your way up the hill.
- At the 3rd hairpin turn, Scenic becomes
Country Club.
- Continue up Country Club, passing a bunch
of mailboxes on your right.
- Make the 2nd RIGHT just after the
mailboxes, to continue on Country Club.
- The road is a little narrow and curving
-- drive slowly.
- 1501 Country Club is a 2-story cabin
painted red with a white trim.
- Park off of the road -- parking is
limited... CARPOOLING from Ben Lomond is highly suggested!
